This nourishing summer full day retreat invites you into a rhythm of rest, movement and stillness, sound and community. A sacred space to reclaim and embody your voice, soften into your body, and honour all that you are, without needing to strive, fix, or force, but rather allowing what needs arise to be witness, seen and expressed.

You’ll be gently guided in a journey that weaves together nature, sound, voice, ritual and deep rest. My intention is to hold a safe, welcoming, multisensory space, where we engage with earth connection, ceremonial cacao, sacred song around the fire, and movement. Everything is offered as an invitation - a balance of rest, stillness, and wild expression.

Set near the Long Man of Wilmington, The Sussex Shala is nestled in open skies and ancient land that holds and amplifies our experience of sound, nature, and connection.

This retreat takes place during the Lions Gate Portal, a potent time when the Sun in Leo and rising of Sirius form a cosmic alignment believed to open gateways of transformation.

Peaking on 8 August and felt in the days around it, this portal invites heart-opening, soul-alignment, and courageous self-expression. You don’t need to ‘know’ astrology — just trust the timing and let the season support your unfolding.

Liz Keates Bio:

Liz is a certified Sound Healer and Ceremonial Cacao Facilitator who creates transformative spaces for rest, release, and reconnection. Her retreats and gatherings weave together sound healing, forest bathing, ceremonial cacao, Blue Lotus, and voice to guide women back to their inner wisdom and the rhythms of nature.

Drawing on 18 years in wellness—including work as a Life Coach, Mindfulness Teacher, and former Psychotherapist—Liz brings a compassionate, heart-led approach to everything she offers. Her sound journeys blend Gong, Native American-style flute, shamanic drums, crystal singing bowls, gentle percussion, and vocal toning, creating immersive soundscapes that support deep healing.

Rooted in ritual and the sacred, Liz holds space with sensitivity and care—whether in retreat, ceremony, or private sessions. A lover of sacred sites and wild places, she often practices vocal toning in nature, offering voice and flute to honour the land and deepen spiritual connection.
